Homestay

Most homestays are within walking distance to the ELS Center; some will require public transportation (bus) to and from ELS. Host families are very friendly and help students adjust to the public transportation system within the local area. Students are responsible for their personal transportation.

Student Residence (On Campus)

  • Northpointe Hall, an on-campus residence hall is conveniently located right next to the ELS center and the state-of-the-art Fitness Center here at FDU. This 300-bed, hotel-style hall features double bedrooms, each with one bathroom for two students. Traditionally, Northpointe houses upper-classmen, international students, and student-athletes. The entire building is unisex but each room is separated by gender. This allows ELS students an opportunity to interact with the FDU community regularly and be involved in events that are held at the residence hall. One of the latest additions to the Metropolitan Campus landscape, Northpointe overlooks the green lawns and the Hackensack River at the north end of the Teaneck side of the campus. Students are equipped with:
  • Double bedrooms
  • Shared bathroom (with only one student)
  • Two large dressers, desks, and chairs in each room
  • Resident Advisors located on each floor, available 24/7
  • Hall access devices for building entry and individual rooms keys
  • 24-hour front desk security and cameras
  • Common kitchen area on site that includes a sink, microwave, and large refrigerator
    Immunization documents are required for this Center and included in the Student Welcome Package.
    Note: students must submit their completed immunization records no later than Friday of Week 3 prior to their arrival (approximately 9 days before their move-in Sunday).

  • Not included in the housing price. On-campus dining facilities and off-campus restaurants are available within walking distance. A meal plan can be purchase through FDU¿s Dining Services once students arrive for $99.00. This includes 10 meal swipes at the Student Union building (buffet-style cafeteria), 5 snack swipes at the other cafeteria locations (Jeepers and Dickinson Hall), and $25.00 in flex dollars which can be used to purchase any food item at all cafeteria locations.

  • University Court is comprised of ten (10) separate townhouse-style buildings where all room types are Double Rooms with shared hallway bathrooms. Rooms Include:
